TECH 212: Creative Recording & Live Sound explores recording as technical discipline and creative sonic practice. Students learn conventional competencies in microphones, acoustics, stereo recording, session organization, ensemble recording, editing, and live sound reinforcement. These practices are supplemented with relevant texts from historical and modern creative practitioners and expanded through engagement with unconventional transducers, spatial recording, MIDI, OSC, gestural data, and live electroacoustic performance.
